Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined for slow over-rate during the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. An official statement issued by the IPL on Thursday said, “This was the Delhi Capitals team's second offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct related to minimum over rate offences, hence Pant has been fined Rs 24 lakh. Apart from this, the remaining members of the playing eleven, including the impact player, have been individually fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is less.” Talking about the match, in this match, KKR batted first, Sunil Narine (39 balls, 85 runs, 7 fours, 7 sixes), Angkris Raghuvanshi (27 balls, 54 runs, 5 fours, 3 sixes), Andre Russell (19 Ball, 41 runs, 4 fours, 3 sixes) and Rinku Singh (8 balls, 26 runs, 1 four, 3 sixes) made a huge score of 272 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi team was reduced to 166 runs in 17.2 overs. For Delhi, captain Rishabh Pant (55) and Tristan Stubbs (54) played excellent half-centuries. Apart from these two, no other batsman could play sustainably, 6 batsmen could not even cross double figures.
