Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India and IIT Roorkee regarding the establishment of a Center of Excellence and Industry Accelerator in the field of auto sector and e-mobility for research and development. Participated virtually in the program organized for this.

The Chief Minister said that this initiative with the cooperation of two important units of the Government of India is a commendable effort towards building the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Developed India 2047”. IIT Roorkee is not only a symbol of highest and quality education not only in Uttarakhand but in the entire country, it is also a great high-tech institute. The skilled students of technical education here are contributing in various fields of the country.

He said that IIT Roorkee has always done important work in the field of innovation. Establishment of Center of Excellence and Industry Accelerator at IIT Roorkee is an important initiative, which will undoubtedly contribute to the overall development and innovation of Uttarakhand. He said that Center of Excellence and Industry Accelerator will not only help us in creating a knowledge dependent economy but will also assist us in the field of research. The Center of Excellence will actively contribute to transfer of technology across industries and also spur development of indigenous solutions and products in the automotive sector.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this center will play an important role in making India a global manufacturing hub and will contribute significantly to technological excellence and economic prosperity. He said that through extensive training programs and educational initiatives, we aim to nurture our young minds to become leaders in the field of automotive and related technologies. This partnership will also prove to be an important step towards progress in the science and technology sector of Uttarakhand.
