DSP shot dead in Quetta, Pakistan

A DSP and a tribal elder were killed in two attacks in Sibi and Bajaur of Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province. According to Dawn newspaper report, Sibi Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khalid Zaman Marri was passing through the market area of Sibi city on Friday. Meanwhile, unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle near Chanak roundabout area.
According to the police, Khalid Zaman was seriously injured after being hit by six bullets. He was taken to the Combined Military Hospital. He died during treatment. One attacker was injured in retaliatory firing by DSP's security guard. However he escaped along with other attackers. Police chased him and caught him near Nishtar Road. No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack. SBI SSP Inayatullah Bangulzai said, "We are investigating the attack from all angles."
