Gatka Association district SAS Nagar will host 2nd district Gatka tournament 2025 on Thursday, December 25, near Gurdwara Nanak Darbar in Sector-91, SAS Nagar. The event is being organised by the Gatka Association District SAS Nagar under the aegis of the Gatka Association of Punjab, affiliated with the National Gatka Association of India. Disclosing this Phool Raj Singh, Chairman of Directorate international Affairs of World Gatka Federation informed that around en Gatka teams from across the district will take part presenting traditional Sikh martial art demonstrations and competitive displays. The tournament aims to provide a competitive platform for emerging players while strengthening Gatkarsquos grassroots structure at the district level, he added. Phool Raj Singh further added that the competition is part of a broader effort to promote Gatka not merely as a cultural legacy but as a structured and regulated sport aligned with national standards. Harsimran Singh and Sherry Singh, Coordinators of the Gatka Association of Punjab said district tournaments play a crucial role in identifying talent, encouraging youth participation and preparing players for higher level competitions at the state and national stage. The event is also expected to attract spectators from nearby areas, adding to the growing visibility of Gatka in urban Punjab.
