Reaffirming its strong commitment to promoting sports and empowering specially-abled athletes, the district administration has sponsored international para-badminton player Shabana at the SPIRO SPATHIS Egypt Para Badminton International 2026, scheduled to be held from January 13 to 18, 2026. While handing over the sponsorship and extending best wishes, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain lauded Shabana for her exceptional achievements on the global stage. He stated that Shabana has consistently brought laurels to the nation and has become a source of inspiration for countless young athletes, especially those from the para sports fraternity. He added that Shabanas dedication, resilience and outstanding performances have made Ludhiana and the entire country immensely proud. The Deputy Commissioner further added that the administration stands firmly with our athletes. We will continue to provide every possible support to ensure that the talent like Shabana gets the platform it truly deserves. He also expressed confidence that she will excel in Egypt. Jain also directed the District Red Cross Society and sports department to extend all necessary assistance, to help Shabana.
