- Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Director, Dr. Kotnis Acupuncture Hospital and Education Centre, Saleem Tabri, Ludhiana, and Executive Member, World Federation of Acupuncture Moxibustion (WFAS), recently attended the 158th Session of the WHO Executive Board in Geneva, Switzerland, alongside Dr. Sandeep Chopra. As a representative of WFAS, an official body of WHO, Dr. Singh shared his 50 years of experience in Acupuncture Moxibustion, highlighting traditional medicines role in achieving Better Health for All by 2030. He emphasized that Acupuncture Moxibustion offer economic, surgery-free, and side-effect-free healthcare solutions, providing long-lasting and permanent relief. In his address, Dr. Singh submitted observations and recommendations to WHO, stressing the need for resilient, preventive, and people-centered healthcare systems. He appreciated WHOs leadership and advocated for an inclusive framework representing major evidence-based traditional systems worldwide. Dr. Singh and WFAS committed to collaborating with WHO on developing global guidelines for traditional medicine research, education, and clinical practice. WFAS, with representation in 70 countries and 300 member societies, aims to support WHOs mission. WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, appreciated Dr. Singhs participation, stating, Your input has been invaluable. We look forward to continued collaboration with WFAS to form the global guidelines for acupuncture.
