The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ludhiana celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with dignity, patriotic fervour, and deep constitutional reverence at the IMA House, Ludhiana. The function was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. B. K. Jain, former Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Dayanand Medical College amp Hospital, Ludhiana. The program commenced with the Flag Unfurling Ceremony, followed by the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, observed with full decorum and respect. The celebration was attended by President, IMA Ludhiana (2026) Dr. Pawan Dhingra, President-Elect Dr. Avtar Singh Khare, Immediate Past President Dr. Dhiraj Agrawal, Vice President Dr. Devinderjit Walia, Dr. Narjit Kaur, Honorary Secretary Dr. Ashish Ohri, Punjab Medical Council Member Dr. Karamveer Goyal, and Dr. Pritpal Singh, along with several senior doctors and past presidents of IMA Ludhiana. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manoj Sobti , patron IMA Ludhiana emphasized the dignity and sanctity of Republic Day, highlighting the responsibility of the medical profession to uphold constitutional values through ethical practice, compassion, and service to humanity. Dr. Pawan Dhingra noted that this yearrsquos Republic Day also marked the 150th anniversary of the National Song Vande Mataram, symbolising unity, devotion to the nation, and the spirit of selfless servicemdashvalues deeply embedded in the medical profession. The Chief Guest, Dr. B. K. Jain, drew a meaningful correlation between the Constitution of India and medical ethics, stating that while the Constitution guarantees equality and dignity to every citizen, doctors translate these ideals into daily patient care without discrimination, acting as silent yet steadfast nation builders. A patriotic cultural program presented by the children of doctors added colour and warmth to the celebration. Hanah Sobti and Rabab Singh presented a graceful dance performance on a patriotic song. Vadika Gupta recited a patriotic poem, while Navya Mutneja and Naisha Mutneja jointly presented a poem reflecting love for the nation. Gursheen Kaur also recited a heartfelt patriotic poem. Their participation was widely appreciated by the audience. The celebration concluded with a fellowship breakfast, fostering camaraderie and unity among members. The event reaffirmed IMA Ludhianarsquos commitment to constitutional values, ethical medical practice, and service to society, in the true spirit of the Republic of India. Jai Hind.
