A three-member high-level delegation from China is expected to attend, with a special emphasis on establishing a Training and Research Center for Acupuncture. Established in memory of Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis, a symbol of Indo-China friendship, the hospital at Salem Tabri, Ludhiana, has been serving humanity for the past 50 years. To commemorate this milestone, a grand Golden Jubilee function will be organized on November 15 at Dugri Road. A meeting of the hospitalrsquos management committee was held under the chairmanship of Senior Vice President Advocate K.R. Seekri, with special presence of Aman Bagga, son of MLA Madan Lal Bagga. The committee informed that apart from the Chinese Embassy delegation, various legislators and political leaders will also attend the event, which will be held under the guidance of MLA Madan Lal Bagga. Hospital Director Dr. Inderjit Singh welcomed all members and expressed pride that Acupuncture, the most effective, affordable, and side-effect-free system of treatment in todayrsquos era, has been provided to patients for the past 50 years by the hospital. General Secretary Sardar Iqbal Singh Gill and Senior Vice President K.R. Seekri expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its continuous support in promoting Acupuncture in India. They stated that while Acupuncture provides affordable healthcare to the needy, a small needle has also brought two nations closer together. Jagdish Sidana and Anoop Tayal said that Indiarsquos Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also promoting traditional systems of medicine like Acupuncture instead of expensive allopathic treatments. Both Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President have agreed to promote Yoga and Acupuncture in each otherrsquos countries. Sardar Iqbal Singh Gill and Sardar Jaswant Singh Chhapa appealed to the Chinese government to help establish a Training and Research Center for Acupuncture in India. They mentioned that Dr. D.N. Kotnis Hospital in Salem Tabri, Ludhiana, has full infrastructure available for this purpose, and a proposal can be sent through the Chinese Embassy. Both countries should mutually agree to start this initiative so that Indian citizens may benefit from it both medically and educationally. They also suggested that expert Acupuncture doctors from China be invited to train Indian students. Dr. Sandeep Chopra from Delhi said that the management committee unanimously decided to honor Hospital Director and Medical Superintendent Dr. Inderjit Singh for his outstanding 50 years of service to Acupuncture. The committee members further appealed to MLA Madan Lal Bagga that, like West Bengal and Maharashtra, the Punjab government should also recognize Acupuncture officially, so that degree colleges and formal education in this field can begin. Among others present on the occasion were Harinderpal Singh, Jaskiran Singh, Ashwani Verma, Gautam Jalandhari, Charanjit Singh Makkar, Gagan Bhatia, Dr. Raghbir Singh, Tarsem Lal, Indermohan Singh, Balbir Chand, Upinder Singh, Tajinder Pal Singh, Sukhdev Salempuri, Krishan Mohan, Dr. Baljinder Singh, and Sachdev Gill.
