The festivities commence with the lighting of the traditional Lohri bonfire by Ms. Kanu Thind, Director of NIIFT, Dr. Simrita Singh, Principal of NIIFT, and Sh. Arshjit Singh, Registrar of NIIFT. The cultural program unfolded with vibrant Giddha performances, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. NIIFT students, adorned in traditional Phulkaris and Punjabi attire, showcased their talent through folk music, traditional dance, and Lohri-themed skits. The entire campus was transformed into a colorful spectacle, with decorations adding a vibrant touch to the festivities. Delicious Lohri sweets, including rewari, gachak, and popcorn, were distributed among all attendees, further enhancing the festive spirit. The celebration epitomized a delightful blend of tradition, cultural expression, and joy, fostering a sense of unity among students, staff, and faculty. Dr. Meeta, Head of NIIFTs Cultural Team, concluded the Lohri celebration with a heartfelt vote of thanks and good luck to all, encapsulating the spirit of togetherness and harmony that prevailed throughout the event.
