Sharing details of the initiative, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, ldquoThe Punjab School Education Department organised the second Statewide School-Level Parentsrsquo Workshop, engaging over 17.50 lakh parents across all government schools.rdquo The Punjab Education Minister pointed out the mega initiative, spearheaded by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, had set a new benchmark for parental involvement in the statersquos education system and reflected the commitment of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government towards collaborative learning. ldquoThis initiative reinforces our resolve to further elevate education standards under Punjab Sikhya Kranti by making parents active partners in the learning journey,rdquo he said. Minister Harjot Singh Bains led a workshop at Government High School, Manakpur (Nangal), in the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, where he interacted with parents and students. Explaining the objectives, S. Harjot Singh Bains said, ldquoThe workshop aims to empower parents with practical strategies for stress-free exam preparation, help them build childrenrsquos confidence through positive reinforcement, and raise awareness on drug abuse prevention under Punjabrsquos Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign, with a focus on early detection, prevention and support.rdquo He further said that several senior leaders participated across the state to strengthen the outreach. ldquoCabinet Ministers including Dr. Baljit Kaur, Lalchand Kataruchak, Tarunpreet Singh Sond and Hardeep Singh Mundian, along with over 40 MLAs, joined the workshops in their respective constituencies, demonstrating a unified political commitment to support and strengthen the education system while promoting community engagement,rdquo he said. Referring to the continuity of the initiative, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, ldquoBuilding on the resounding success of the first workshop conducted in December 2025, todayrsquos event has further solidified a powerful partnership between schools and studentsrsquo families, empowering parents with insights into their childrenrsquos academic progress and ways to support learning at home.rdquo Detailing the administrative preparation behind the exercise, he said, ldquoTo ensure the success of the workshop, the School Education Department deployed over 3,000 senior officers, including Directors and DEOs, to monitor and support the programme. Around 40,000 teachers were trained in advance to facilitate the parent workshops, ensuring flawless execution and meaningful impact.rdquo Highlighting the larger vision behind the initiative, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, ldquoThis workshop is a cornerstone of our mission to build strong school-parent collaboration, create a supportive home environment, and ensure academic success along with holistic well-being for every child.rdquo A High-Impact Governance Initiative Driven by Scale and Participation The Bhagwant Mann Governmentrsquos statewide Parentsrsquo Workshop marked a defining moment in participatory governance, mobilising over 17.50 lakh parents across 100 percent of government schools in a single day. As the second statewide Parentsrsquo Workshop, the initiative was executed through the deployment of more than 3,000 senior officers and the advance training of around 40,000 teachers, ensuring consistency and quality engagement on the ground. The programme witnessed the participation of six Cabinet Ministers and over 40 MLAs, with each school conducting structured 1 to 1.5 hour sessions, reflecting a rare combination of political commitment, administrative preparedness and community involvement under Punjab Sikhya Kranti.
