Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa emphasises on the collective role of parents, teachers and institutions in shaping a childrsquos future In line with the vision and directives of the Government of Punjab, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Bhagwant S Mann, an insightful parenting awareness session was organised at School of Eminence, Model Town. The session witnessed active participation from more than 400 parents, who attended to gain guidance on effective parenting, child development and academic support. Ms. Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa, Vice Chairperson, Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, she emphasised the collective role of parents, teachers and institutions in shaping a childrsquos future. She stated, ldquo Children flourish when they receive emotional support, discipline and understanding at home along with guidance at school. Parents must remain approachable and alert to their childrsquos needs.rdquo Ms. Vishwakirat Kahlon, Principal, School of Eminence, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the schoolrsquos commitment towards holistic development of students through parent-teacher collaboration. Expert from Aas Ehsaas NGO, Advocate Mr. Shamsheer Pal Singh Dhillon shared legal perspectives related to child rights and responsibilities of parents, stressing the importance of a safe and respectful environment for children. Another expert Retired Principal Mr. Dinesh Malik spoke about academic planning, examination preparation and the need to reduce pressure while encouraging consistency and confidence among students. The session also focused on practical parenting tips, grooming of students, emotional well-being and balanced academic preparation. An interactive question-and-answer segment was held, where parents raised their concerns related to academics, behaviour and stress management. Responding to the queries, Ms. Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa assured parents that the Punjab Child Rights Commission is always available to support children and families, and encouraged them to seek guidance whenever required. The session concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of informed parenting for the overall growth of children. S. Amandeep Singh, Deputy DEO, School resource persons Ms. Superjit Kaur, Ms. Inderjeet Kaur along with other teachers and students were also present.
