With the objective of fostering innovation, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial thinking among young minds, A Gro Foundation in collaboration with Gulzar Group of Institutes, and with the support of Startup Punjab, successfully organized a 24-hour AI Hackathon 2026 under the banner AIthon 2026. A total of seven teams were shortlisted for the hackathon. During the intense 24-hour coding marathon, participants selected real-world problem statements and developed innovative AI-based solutions addressing challenges such as Smart Queue Management, Fake News Detection, Smart Parking Systems, Resume Screening, and Real-Time Price Fraud Detection. The competition witnessed a tough and healthy technological battle among the participating teams. Beyond coding, the event featured several engaging activities to enhance the overall experience. Midnight mentorship sessions were conducted where industry experts guided teams through technical challenges. A Rapid-Fire Pitch Round challenged each team to present their idea before the judges in just 60 seconds. To keep the energy levels high, late-night fun games and music breaks were organized. During the Prototype Demo, teams showcased live models addressing complex real-world issues such as fake news identification and smart parking solutions. At the conclusion of the hackathon, Team Crafters AI emerged as the winner. Price Patrol AI secured the First Runner-Up position, while Verifact AI was declared the Second Runner-Up. Congratulating the winners, Gurcharan Singh, Chairman, Gulzar Group, stated that the institutionrsquos aim is to provide students with a platform where they can apply their technical expertise to solve societal challenges. He added that the enthusiasm displayed by the youth clearly reflects a promising future for technological innovation. On this occasion, Gurkirat Singh, Executive Director, Gulzar Group, remarked that the hackathon was not merely a competition but a celebration of creativity and collaboration. He emphasized that several projects presented during the event have the potential to bring significant transformation in the industrial ecosystem in the near future. The event concluded successfully with impactful project demonstrations and enthusiastic participation from all teams.
