The second day of the seven-day special camp organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit at Satish Chandra Dhawan Government College, Ludhiana was successfully concluded in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm, discipline and social awareness. The camp is being organized under the able leadership and guidance of the College Principal Professor (Dr.) Gursharn Jit Singh Sandhu. The day began with a morning aerobics session, which instilled a sense of physical fitness, energy and discipline among the volunteers. This was followed by an informative session on road safety, with S. Jasvir Singh, Head Constable, Traffic Police Ludhiana and Ms Kajal Singh from Childrenrsquos Park, Ludhiana as the key speakers. Both speakers shared their valuable experiences and insights on the importance of road safety rules, traffic discipline and accident prevention with the NSS volunteers. Subsequently, Prof. Parvinder Kumar from the Department of Political Science delivered a serious and thought-provoking talk on the harmful effects of drug abuse on society. He motivated the students to actively participate in the ldquoNasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyanrdquo and the ldquoYudh Nashian Virudhrdquo campaign, urging them to take a firm pledge to help build a drug-free society. In the next phase of the day, NSS volunteers carried out a cleanliness drive, spreading awareness about hygiene and a healthy environment. With the objective of making students mentally strong, active and agile, various sports activities were organized under the guidance of the Dr Harblas Heera (Professor at Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Government Co-education College, Jalandhar). Through these activities, students developed team spirit, discipline, and leadership qualities. The successful organization of the entire camp saw the significant and commendable contribution of NSS Officers Dr. Devina Ghai, Dr. Saurabh Kumar, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar and Prof. Rahul Dhiman. The second day of the camp proved to be highly inspiring for the volunteers, fostering a strong spirit of service and social responsibility.
