Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Basmati rice exporters are in distress and their shipments worth ₹2,000 crore stuck and payments stalled due to growing uncertainty in Iran. Mandi prices have also been crashed amid Iran trade disruption. He requested the Honrsquoble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi that his urgent intervention is needed to protect farmers, millers amp exporters interest. This delay is hurting Punjabrsquos economy and basmati rice exporters are also facing difficulty.
